CONWAY - Coastal Carolina University held its annual December commencement ceremonies this past weekend and a total of 19 Chanticleers were part of the graduating class.

Headlining the group were Academic All-America quarterback Alex Ross, women's soccer forward Darbie Kelley and men's soccer forward Bryce Follensbee. Ross, who graduated cum laude last December, completed his Master of Business Administration this December. Kelley graduated magna cum laude after completing her undergraduate degree in marketing with a 3.901 GPA. Follensbee, who helped the Chants achieve a program-high national rank of #4 this season, graduated cum laude from Coastal as he posted a 3.627 GPA in marketing.

Others of note include Letitia Saayman and Eszter Nagy. Saayman, who graduated with a 3.33 GPA in sociology, was named 2015 All-American in cross country after finishing 18th at the NCAA Championship and winning the 2015 NCAA Southeast Regional championship. Nagy also graduated (biochemistry) after wrapping up an excellent athletic career this fall. She was a two-time first team All-Big South selection and helped the Chants reach back-to-back NCAA Championship berths.

The football program led the way with six student-athletes receiving their undergraduate degrees, including junior wide receiver Bruce Mapp who has another year of eligibility remaining for the 2016 season. Mapp was joined by fellow receivers Tyrell Blanks and John Israel as well as safety Kelvin Deveaux, tight end Thomas Pauciello and running back Costanzo Ellerbe.

The baseball program featured three graduates, including 2016 team members Patrick Corbett and Tyler Poole.

Five student-athletes graduated this December that completed their eligibility this past fall, including Carrington Fernandors (men's track & field), DeAndra Lipscomb (men's track & field), Christina Davis (women's track & field), Taylor Harris (softball) and Sara Rasley (softball).
