Chance Miller Named to 2026 Silver Waves Media Top Athletic Directors in America List

CONWAY, S.C. - Chance Miller, Coastal Carolina University's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation, has been named to the 2026 Silver Waves Media Top Athletic Directors in America list, a national recognition honoring the most impactful leaders in collegiate athletics.

Selected by a committee of search firms, agents, fellow athletics directors, and industry executives from across the country, the annual list recognizes athletics administrators who are shaping the future of intercollegiate athletics through leadership, innovation, competitive success, and overall departmental excellence.

Miller was named Coastal Carolina University's vice president for intercollegiate athletics and University recreation in June 2024. Since arriving in Conway, he has led a period of significant momentum and transformational growth for Chanticleer Athletics, elevating the department competitively, strategically, and nationally.

Among Miller's accomplishments during his tenure include the launch of the Coastal WAVE strategic plan, the creation of the Alyse Svihla Student-Athlete Development and Engagement Program, the debut of the Chanticleer Mobile App, and numerous fan-experience enhancements across Coastal Carolina's athletics venues. Coastal has also seen significant growth in fundraising, sponsorship, licensing and revenue generation, under his leadership.

Miller oversees Coastal's NCAA Division I athletics program, which includes 19 varsity sports, nearly 200 coaches and staff members, and more than 550 student-athletes. He also provides executive leadership for University Recreation, Sports Turf and Golf Course Operations, and Teal Nation retail.
