De'Angelo Henderson Adds AP All-America Honors

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina junior running back De'Angelo Henderson was named to the Associated Press 2015 FCS All-America Football Team, the organization announced today.
Henderson was voted third team AP FCS All-America, adding to his second team STATS FCS honor earlier this week. A total of 10 Chanticleers have now earned 12 AP All-America honors as Josh Norman (3rd team in 2009 and first team in 2011) and Quinn Backus (2nd team in 2013 and 1st team in 2014) were two-time honorees. Others to be named AP All-America include Tyler Thigpen (1st team in 2006), Brad Poston (2nd team in 2006), Jerome Simpson (2nd team in 2006), Quinton Teal (2nd team in 2006), Lorenzo Taliaferro (2nd team in 2013), Jamey Cheatwood (3rd team in 2013), Chad Hamilton (2nd team in 2014).
Henderson was the 2015 Big South Offensive Player of the Year and set an NCAA FCS record by scoring a touchdown in 26 consecutive games (all 14 games of 2014 and all 12 games of 2015). He finished 10th in the STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Year voting as he ranked among the FCS top 10 in scoring (6th; 9.5 ppg), rushing touchdowns (7th; 16) and rushing yards (1,346).
Henderson is the Coastal Carolina all-time leader with 3,479 rushing yards (3rd in Big South history) and 4,210 all-purpose yards (7th in Big South history), while his 42 career rushing touchdowns rank second on the CCU all-time list and third in Big South history. (Big South leaders are Stony Brook's Miguel Maysonet with 48 followed by CCU's Aundres Perkins with 46.)
