Asheville, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team notched its second straight road victory at host UNC Asheville on Sunday as the Chanticleers (8-5, 3-1) defeated the Bulldogs (10-5, 2-3) by a 5-2 margin at the Asheville Racquet Club.

Coastal was down early in the match as Asheville took two of three doubles decisions to take a 1-0 lead.

Philippe Tsangarides and Kaue Pereira were the lone Coastal pair to pick up a doubles win. The two teamed up to defeat Brett Landau and Alex Croker 8-6 on the first court.

The UNC Asheville pairs of Panoulas/Schubel (No. 2) and Swindler/Kripak (No. 3) each tallied 8-6 victories to clinch the opening point for the Bulldogs.

The Chants managed to right the ship as play turned to singles, taking five of the six matches.

Pereira was the only Chant to win in straight sets, downing Panoulas at No. 2, 6-4, 6-3.

Garik Yedigarian bested Swindler at No. 3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, while Vuk Velickovic downed Croker 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Pedro Leme recorded a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Landau at No. 5, and Renan Samed won the No. 6 singles match by a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 decision over Schubel.

Coastal plays its final road match of the regular season on April 4 as the Chants head to Presbyterian for a 1 p.m. match.
