ROME, GA. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team defeated Georgia State 4-0 in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Thursday morning, securing its first winning season since 2019.

• Coastal Carolina opened strong by sweeping the doubles point, earning wins on all three courts to take an early 1-0 lead.
• The duo of Rivers Cahill and Jack Dixon picked up a 6-3 win on court two, followed by a 7-5 victory from Christopher Norlin and Eric Tripathi on court one. Iannis Fernandes and Curzio Manucci secured the point with a 7-6 (5) win on court three.
• The Chants carried that momentum into singles play, winning three courts in straight sets to clinch the match.
• Christopher Norlin earned a 6-2, 6-1 win on court one, while Juan Cruz Collardin followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court two.
• Curzio Manucci sealed the win with a 6-4, 6-4 decision on court five.
• Three matches went unfinished on courts three, four, and six as Coastal secured the 4-0 victory.
• "Great bounce back win today. We hit the snide last week and I was really proud to see that fight come back today," said head coach Chris Powers. "We are playing with house money now and excited to take on the three-time champs tomorrow."
• Coastal will return to action on Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m., taking on Old Dominion in the next round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
