CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team advanced to its first ever Big South Lacrosse Championship semifinals with a 15-11 overtime win against Campbell on Tuesday evening at the CCU Soccer Stadium.

The Chanticleers appeared to end the game in regulation on an assist off a free position attempt from Keri White to Sara Nolan with one second remaining. However, the officials negated the goal after deeming an illegal stick and the two teams continued into overtime.

Coastal Carolina maintained possession for much of the extra time and outscored the Fighting Camels 4-0 for the 15-11 victory. Following the Chanticleers' third goal of overtime, Campbell pulled its goalkeeper, Merredith Bechler, and Coastal Carolina added a goal.

The game remained competitive for its entirety as neither team led by more than three goals until the last four seconds of the game. Other than the final score, Coastal Carolina assumed the game's largest lead at 6-3 with 10:25 to play in the first half.

The two teams then went back and forth in the second half before the Chanticleers took an 11-9 lead with 8:17 to play. After a period of no offensive output, Campbell made a late comeback effort with two goals in the final 3:34 of regulation to tie the game.

For Coastal Carolina, senior attack Jen Cosgrove matched her career-high with another eight-point, seven-goal performance against the Fighting Camels. Cosgrove tallied the same point total just last Friday against Campbell, matching a single-game program record. White also played a huge role for the Chanticleers down the stretch as she didn't get on the scoreboard until 24:11 to play in the second half, but ended the game with five points on four goals and one assist.

Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Stover was big in the game's closing moments as she allowed only five goals in the second half and overtime period despite Campbell outshooting Coastal Carolina 20-13 during the stretch.

Campbell was led by a pair of hat tricks from Kayla Reilly and Rebecca Sheinfeld.

Coastal Carolina's victory against Campbell marks its second in a span of five days and the Chanticleers improve to 4-0 all-time against the Fighting Camels, including 2-0 in overtime after a 13-12 win in the 2013 regular season finale.

Now on a four-game winning streak and having won 10 of their last 12 games, the Chanticleers will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on the Liberty Flames in the Big South Lacrosse Championship semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m. Coastal Carolina is 1-2 all-time against Liberty and lost to the Flames by an 18-8 margin earlier this season.
