Cheerleading Earns Gold-Paid Bid to NCA Championship

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina University cheer team earned a gold-paid bid to attend the National Cheerleading Association National Championship held in Dayton Beach, Fla., this coming April.
The Chanticleers were one of five squads to earn the gold-paid bid at the NCA Collegiate Summer Camp that was conducted in early August. The coveted gold paid bid allows the Chanticleers to register early for the NCA National Championship along with reducing the event's registration fees and hotel costs.
The Chanticleer cheer squad won multiple blue ribbons at the NCA Collegiate Summer Camp in such categories as gameday cheers and rally routine. The team also won the overall championship amongst institutions whose football teams compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
Moreover, Chauncey received NCA All-American honors as one of the top-five mascots to attend the camp -- regardless of division.
