TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Coastal Carolina volleyball team closed the A Loft Seminole Invitational on Sunday with a three-set sweep (25-16, 25-9, 25-17) of co-host Florida A&M.
The Chanticleers' fourth three-set win of the season improves their record to 5-2, while FAMU remains winless at 0-10.
Coastal held FAMU to a .012 team hitting percentage while racking up a season-high 13 total blocks. Lian Bernett led the effort with seven blocks assists, followed by five assists and a solo from Eszter Nagy and five assists from Annayka Legros.
Leah Hardeman paced the Chants' attack with nine kills while hitting .500. The sophomore outside hitter added a team-high seven digs and two aces.
Legros finished with eight kills and a .615 hitting percentage. Bernett added five kills at a .500 clip.
Freshman setter Sara Boothe led the Chants with 12 assists, followed by 11 from sophomore Aleksandra Djuric.
Coastal plays its home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 15 as the Chants host UNC Wilmington. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at The HTC Center. The Seahawks enter the game with a 6-2 overall record after splitting a pair of matches this weekend against North Carolina (five-set win) and Duke (three-set loss).
