CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina baseball team opens the 2016 season in 25 days and will host Appalachian State (Feb. 19) as the #23 team in the nation according to Baseball America, which released its 2016 Preseason Top 25 Monday.

Also on that opening weekend, the Chanticleers will host North Carolina State - ranked 19th in the Baseball American Preseason Top 25 - on Feb. 20 and welcome defending national champion Virginia - ranked 4th by Baseball America - on Feb. 21. The only other CCU opponent to make the Baseball America Preseason Top 25 is #24 Mississippi. The Chants will host the Rebels on Mar. 5 as part of the Chanticleer Classic.
This is only the second time since 2005 Coastal Carolina has been ranked in the Baseball America Preseason Top 25. The only other occasion came in 2010 when the publication tabbed the Chanticleers 12th.
Coastal has been represented in each of the four preseason polls released to date as Collegiate Baseball put CCU 33rd, D1Baseball.com put the Chants 24th and PerfectGame.org selected Coastal 21st.

In addition to season tickets, fans can purchase three, four-game mini-packs. Each mini-pack costs $40 for Bronze seating and $35 for reserved.

- Mini-Pack #2: CCU home games versus Mississippi, Illinois (both contests) and UNC Wilmington
- Mini Pack #3: CCU home games versus College of Charleston (both contests), The Citadel and UNC Wilmington
Individual game tickets will go on sale Feb. 9.
