Final Results

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's indoor track and field teams finished out the Buccaneer Invitational Saturday afternoon with three Lady Chants placing in the top 10 of their events.

On the women's side...

Junior Aynslee van Graan took home eighth place in the women's 800 meter race crossing the finish line at 2:18.92. Following van Graan, was Lisha Van Onselen finishing 10th overall with a time of 2:19.44 and Regina Peattie finishing with a time of 2:28.29.

In the 1 mile race, Alesia Muklebust finished with a time of 5:38.39 while teammate Taylor Creagh followed closely behind finishing with a time of 5:41.59.

The women's 200 meters finals took place this afternoon, with Teka Simpson taking home a fourth place finish with her best time at 25.33.

Four Lady Chants were entered in the 4x400 relay placing 11th overall with a time of 4:02.26. Jonnay Anthony led the pack for the Chanticleers followed by Rozelle Meier and Aynslee van Graan while Imani Boatwright brought up the rear.

In the field for Coastal, Amirah Al-Bayyinah finished ninth overall in the long jump with her best jump at 5.52 meters (18-01.50). Kelila Naules had her best jump at 5.45m (17-10.75) while Kelsey Briggs finished with her best jump at 5.03 meters (16-06.00).

Also for the Chants, Emma Kroger took home first place in the pole vault with her best jump at 3.60 meters (11-09.75) and Brianna Cristiano with her best jump at 3.15 meters (10-04.00).

On the men's side...

Desmond Wallace took home first place in the 60 meter hurdle finals with his best time of 7.88 to start things off for the men.

Sophomore Kahlim Denmark placed third overall in the 60 meter dash finals on Saturday afternoon with a time of 6.83. Also competing in a finals event was Braylon Wilkerson who took home eighth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.46.

Eight Chanticleers represent Coastal in the 4x400 relay with team "A" for the Chants placing fifth overall with a time of 3:19.84. The team "A" members was led by Tre Stanley, followed by Dee Jennings, Deion Wellington, and closing out the back end was Jerome Coaxum. The second team for the Chants, or team "B", finished with a time of 3:24. 03 and was led by Malcolm Simmons, followed by Therius Styles and Chiason Terikiang, and rounding up the end was Nick Seabright.

In the field for the Chants, Brandon Richardson took home second place with his best jump at 2:07 meters (6-09.50).

In the long jump, Brandon Johnson placed second overall with his best jump at 7.25 meters (23-09.50) while Deandre Baker wasn't too far behind placing eight overall with his best jump at 6.98 meters (22-11.00).

Also for the Chants, Devontaye Edwards (14.96 meters) finished 10th overall in the men's shot put. Zach Bolton (14.35 meters) and Kieran Moore (12.75 meters) each had their best throws to close out the day.

The teams will return to action next weekend at the Samford Invitational on February 12th.
