The Chants put the game out of reach with three runs in the fifth to provide the 11-5 final. After Chiusano reached on an error and Forbes singled, Noad, the Big South career home run leader, added to her total with a three-run shot to center.
Conrad (3-1) got the win, pitching 3.1 innings. She allowed one hit and struck out three.
In game two, Coastal allowed five home runs, but rallied to win 11-10. The Chants allowed seven runs in the second and were down 8-0 through three before scoring two in the fourth and seven in the fifth to take a 9-8 lead. The Bucs scored two in the top of the sixth but Coastal answered with two in the home half to claim the win.
Forbes once again was a key to the win, going 2-for-3, while Chiusano was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and Alvino was 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including the game winners in the bottom of the sixth.
Charleston Southern hit three of its five home runs in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead. Emberson had a leadoff blast while Natalie Yonan hit a three-run shot followed by a two-run homer by Stephanie Bergman. Emberson then capped the scoring in the frame with an RBI single.
In the third and with bases loaded, Bergman hit an RBI single to give CSU an 8-0 cushion.
Coastal began to claw its way back in the fourth thanks to a two-run home run by Alvino.
The Chants then exploded with seven runs in the fifth to take a 9-8 lead. With bases loaded and one out, Annie Robinson singled to score Forbes. Timi Tooley followed with an RBI single to left field. Alvino pushed across the third run in the frame with a sacrifice fly to right field. Buccilli walked to load the bases once again and Chiusano brought them all home with a three-run double. Forbes gave CCU the one-run lead with an RBI single to plate Chiusano.
Charleston Southern responded by hitting its other two home runs, solo shots by Emberson and McPherson, in the top of the sixth to take a 10-9 lead.
Undaunted, Coastal started the home half of the sixth with a single to center by Conrad, who later stole second and moved to third on a passed ball. After Tooley walked, Alvino lined a double to the left center field fence to score both Conrad and Tooley for the 11-10 lead.
Conrad gave up a leadoff single in the top of the seventh, but got a strikeout and two ground outs to earn the win. Overall, she pitched 1.2 innings and allowed two hits, one run and struck out one.
