Women's Tennis Sweeps Campbell

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team recorded its second straight shutout Saturday afternoon as the Chanticleers downed Campbell, 7-0, at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
The doubles point was won on the second and third courts, and Coastal (2-1) followed with straight-sets wins on all six singles courts.
CCU's second doubles pairing of Natalie Wall and Romane Delay secured the first part of the point, and Alexa Tiefel and Marie Babayan followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 to clinch it.
The No. 1 doubles match went unfinished with Sara Bondar and Rylie Cox holding a 5-4 lead.
Babayan won the first singles point on the fifth court before Cox (No. 1) and Wall (No. 2) downed their respective opponents in straight sets to officially seal the match.
Delay, Campbell and Bondar closed out the match on the third, sixth and fourth courts, respectivey.
"I'm proud of the way our team played today," said Chanticleer assistant Emma Kidd Hall. "They came out today with great energy early in doubles and carried the momentum into singles."
Coastal ends its season-opening home stand on Sunday when the Chants host UNC Wilmington for a 1 p.m. match at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
