ELON, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team won its fourth straight match Saturday afternoon, winning 5-2 on the road at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Elon captured the doubles point and one of the first two singles points to take an early 2-1 lead in the match. Coastal responded with four straight singles wins to finish off the contest and take the victory.

The Phoenix won the opening point on the second and third doubles courts, courtesy of Neal Port/Salvador Mijares and Felipe Sarrasague/Taylor Foote.

Vuk Velickovic evened the match as play turned to singles, capturing Coastal's first point on the top court in straight sets over Sarrasague.

Elon briefly regained the lead when Felipe Osses-Konig defeated Francesco Migliano in straight sets at No. 4.

The match was tied a final time after the second court went final, with Luiz Faria topping Mijares. Zak Talic then gave Coastal the lead for good at No. 5, and Jose Ortega provided the match-clinching point in three sets at No. 6.

Sebastian Schneider tallied the Chants' final point at No. 3.

The win over Elon was the first for the CCU men's tennis program.

"I couldn't be prouder of this win today," said coach Chris Powers. "After playing poorly in doubles, we brought intensity on and off the court in singles. Elon has always had our number, so this one was big for us."

Coastal will look to extend its winning streak as it begins a three-match home stand with a 3:00 p.m. contest versus Winthrop on Tuesday.
