Men's Soccer Plays Howard to Open Sun Belt Tournament

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference has released the bracket for the 2018 Men's Soccer Championship and Coastal Carolina will enter the event as the fourth seed.
CCU will have to play an extra match this season in order to defend its tournament championship. CCU and fifth-seeded Howard will open championship play Wednesday Nov. 7 in quarterfinal round action. The match can be seen live on ESPN+ and is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The winner of that match will turn around and play the tournament's top seed, Georgia State, Friday Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. in the first semifinal match of the day.
Third-seeded Appalachian State will face the second seed and tournament host, Georgia Southern, Friday at 7 p.m. The winner of the two semifinal matches will meet Sunday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. for the tournament title. The winner of the conference tournament will earn the Sun Belt's automatic berth into the NCAA National Tournament.
All of the matches will be played in Statesboro, Ga., on Eagle Field at the Erk Russell Athletic Park located on the campus of Georgia Southern. All matches will also be shown live on ESPN+.
