Women’s Tennis Finishes Fall Schedule at CofC Classic

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team concluded its 2018 fall schedule this past weekend at the College of Charleston Classic. The Chants finished the weekend with a 14-14 combined record in both singles and doubles.
Also participating in the weekend's event were College of Charleston, Samford, Marshall and Winthrop.
Coastal held an advantage over Samford in singles, winning four of the six matches on courts 3-6. Samford took two of the three doubles matches, however, winning on the first and second courts.
The Chants nearly swept their singles round against the host Cougars, winning on all but the first court. The doubles round was split at 2-2, with Coastal winning on courts two and four.
The final matchup of the weekend featured Coastal playing against a combination of Winthrop and Marshall players in singles and doubles. Coastal claimed just one singles victory in this round, as Somer Dalla-Bona was victorious on the fourth court. Dalla-Bona also prevailed with partner Jennifer Brown to give Coastal its lone doubles victory at No. 2.
