Chants Win at Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team defeated Charlotte 5-2 Saturday afternoon at Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
The Chants improve to 10-5 with win, while Charlotte drops to 5-9.
The 49ers won the doubles point, but Coastal responded by winning five of the six singles points.
Charlotte's first and second doubles pairs captured the doubles points, with only Coastal's Iryna Vardanian and Natalie Wall taking the third doubles court.
Vardanian opened singles with a straights-sets win at No. 2, followed by Maria Khomchenko, Sara Bondar and Rylie Cox capturing singles points to clinch the match.
Somer Dalla-Bona won the final point for the Chants on the third court.
The Chants dip back into conference play on March 24 when they host Georgia Southern for at 10 a.m. match at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
