Coastal 26 - Delaware St. 1 
Dover, Del. - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse toppled Delaware State 26-1, in Dover, Thursday afternoon. The Chants outshot DSU 35-4 overall scooped up 10-1 ground balls and won 17-9 in draw controls.
Coastal improved to 3-6 on the season, while the Hornets drop to 0-6.
Samantha Courtemanche (3 goals, 3 assists) and Lyla Robinson (2 goals, 4 assists) both scored six points each to pace the CCU offense, followed by Haley Kyger (2 goals, 2 assists) with four points.
The team's leading scorer Haley Alexander (28 points, 21 goals and 7 assists on the season) started with one minute and 12 seconds expiring from the opening draw with an unassisted goal. Julia Imbo (1 goal, 1 assist) made it two to nil with 27:57 to play in the first half.
Alexander made it 3-to-0 on her second of three goals. Robinson made her presence known by helping to score the next three goals, her first goal of the day and two assists, with the last assisting Sarah McEvoy with her first of three goals on the day.
Madeline Bromley (3 goals) pushed the lead to 7-to-0 with an unassisted goal with 17:38 to play in the half. Sophie Crowther (3 goals) made it an eight nil match with the free position. McEvoy then teamed up with Courtemanche to make it a nine-goal lead with 14:40 on the clock.
Crowther (13:41 and 1:38), Megan Busch (10:48), Abbey Buchanan (6:02), and Kyger (3:48) closed out the first half scoring for the Chanticleers and a 14-to-0 halftime lead.
CCU continued to apply the pressure getting the second half started with only 38 seconds elapsing from the clock before Kyger found the back of the net making it a 15-nil match.
Courtemanche made it 16-0 with an unassisted goal with 27:10 remaining. Ilyssa Liberto followed with her first career goal to make it a 17 goal lead assisted by Imbo at the 26:01 mark. Megan Kilpatrick teamed up with Kyger to make it 18 to zero. Jordan Harrell (1 goal, 1 assist) scored her second point of the day with 20:55 remaining to play. Hannah Krin followed with her lone goal of the match with a free position shot with 18:25 on the clock.
Robinson followed with her second goal of the day with 16:50 to go, followed by Busch (2 goals) with 11:08 to play. Courtemanche had a hand in scoring the next two goals for the Chants, first with the goal to make it 23-0 and then assisting McEvoy with 6:49 remaining and a 24-nil lead.
The Hornets Lauren Perry scored on a free position shot to get Delaware State on the scoreboard at 4:46 to trail 24-1.
Buchanan (2:29) and Courtemanche (0:06) filled the back of the net for the final margin of 26-1.
The Chants will return to action on Saturday, March 31, as they travel to Washington D.C. to open up ASUN conference play against Howard. A noon opening draw is scheduled.
