CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to South Carolina State in its final match of the 2018 regular season Friday at the Stevens Tennis Complex.

Coastal closes the regular season with a 6-14 record, and will wait to find out its first round opponent in the 2018 Sun Belt Championship, scheduled for April 19-22 in Peachtree City, Ga.

SC State won the doubles point to open the match, and secured four of six singles points in the victory.

Coastal's third doubles pairing of Gonzalez Achondo and Juan Castellanos won their match 6-4, but SC State's first and second duos won 7-5 and 7-6, respectively, to take the match's first point.

The Chants' two points were provided by Luiz Faria and Castellanos in singles. Faria defeated Jakub Vitek in straight sets on the first court, while Castellanos won in similar fashion against Alekander Stupar at No. 6.

SC State took the third, fourth and fifth courts in two sets, and the second court in three.
