CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to UNC Greensboro Friday night at the Stevens Tennis Complex. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved to Friday evening with the expectation of rain this weekend.

Coastal falls to 6-12 this season with the loss, and will remain on its home court to host East Carolina on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Coastal took the first lead of the match after winning the doubles point. UNCG's first pairing struck first with a 6-1 win, but Coastal evened the point thanks to Gonzalez Achondo and Juan Castellanos taking the third court, 6-2. The Chants' No. 2 of Zak Talic and Francesco Cori-Gamero finished the point, 6-4.

Coastal was unable to carry its early momentum into singles, however, as only Luiz Faria was able to secure a singles point. The junior defeated Ollie Palmer, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 2.

UNCG captured the third and fifth singles courts in straight sets, and took the first, fourth and sixth courts in three.
