Davidson, N.C. – Hannah Miller and
Baylee Price led the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team to a 2-nil victory to open the 2018 season on the road against Davidson, Friday evening in the Wildcats Alumni Stadium, to start 1-0 while the Wildcats fall to 0-1.
Miller fired a shot that ricocheted off the post and in the goal for her first as a Chanticleer and a one to nothing lead in the 31st minute. Coastal and Davidson each had seven shots in the first half, with
Rylee Atteberry making four of her five saves.
The second half each team managed five shots and Price scored an insurance goal with eight minutes remaining in regulation to provide the final 2-to-nil tally.
CCU will continue the season-opening road trip, as they will travel to Rock Hill to take on former Big South opponent Winthrop, Sunday, Aug. 19 with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
