CONWAY – Coastal Carolina's
Tsiki Ntsabeleng knocking in a match-winner in the 113
th minute to give the 18
th-ranked Chants a win over 13
th-ranked Georgetown. The win was the Chants first win of the early season.
For the second consecutive match, CCU played a nationally-ranked team and it didn't take the Hoyas long to take the lead when Derek Dodson picked up a loose ball in front of the CCU goal and hit the back of the net in the fourth minute of the game.
That score stood up until the 31
st minute of the first half when
Yazeed Matthews scored his first goal of the season and the Chants first goal on a blast just outside the box to even the score at one at halftime.
Neither team could score in the second half and both teams had shots in the first overtime period, but neither team scored.
In the second overtime, CCU controlled the ball until Matthews found Ntsabeleng just outside the box who then blasted the ball into the right side of the net for the match winner.
CCU stands 1-1 on the season and Georgetown is now 1-1 on the season as well.
CCU will hit the road for its next two matches as they travel to Birmingham, Ala., where they will face Memphis on Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. CCU will then play host to UAB on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
