Game Notes/Depth Charts

RELOCATED AND EVACUATED
• Due to Hurricane Florence, the game between the Chanticleers and Fighting Camels was not only moved up to Wednesday, Sept. 12, but it was also relocated from Conway, S.C. to Buies Creek, N.C.

• With the relocation, CCU will now play three-straight road games - at Campbell, at Louisiana and at Troy - before its open date on Oct. 6.

• Not only has the storm relocated the football game, it has also upended the Chanticleers from home and campus, as the entire coast of South Carolina was evacuated due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Florence. CCU will travel to St. Augustine, Fla. after the game until allowed to return to campus.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
• Wednesday marks the first-ever meeting between the Chanticleers and the Fighting Camels on the football field.

• In fact, the Camels are one of three teams that Coastal Carolina is facing off with for the first time ever this season along with Louisiana (Sept. 22) and South Alabama (Nov. 23).

• With Hurricane Florence forcing the Campbell-Coastal football game to be moved to Buies Creek, N.C., all three of the Chants' contests versus its first-time foes will come on the road in 2018.

BIG SOUTH CONNECTION
• Coastal is playing its first Big South Conference opponent since Nov. 17, 2016 when the Chants ran away with a 42-7 victory over Liberty in a rare Thursday night game played at Brooks Stadium.

• Coastal Carolina was a member of the Big South Conference from 2003-15, amassing a 44-21 record in conference games and winning seven conference championships.

• Campbell was a charter member of the Big South Conference in 1983, before leaving to join the Trans-America Athletic Conference, which is now the Atlantic Sun Conference, in 1994. Campbell returned to the Big South on July 1, 2011.

• Campbell is playing its first season of football at the FCS level and as a member of the Big South. After a 58-year hiatus from football, Campbell reestablished its program in 2008 as a member of the Pioneer Football League.

SIGNATURE FBS WIN
• CCU's come from behind win over UAB on Sept. 8, could be considered a signature win for the Chants in their FBS era, as UAB was an eight-win bowl team one year ago.

• Not only was the win over a 2017 bowl team, which returned 20 starters from that bowl squad, but it is also the Chanticleers' first win over a Group of Five conference opponent not in the Sun Belt Conference.

UP NEXT
• Coastal Carolina will open up its 2018 Sun Belt Conference slate at Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
