• CCU is looking to end its current three-game losing streak and two-game home losing streak.
• This will be only the fifth meeting between the two teams with Appalachian State holding a 3-1 lead in the series.
• CCU is having trouble getting over the hump in close game losses ... This season's nine losses have come by a combined 46 points or 5.1 points per loss.
• CCU now has the services of
Ebrima Dibba and DeVante' Jones back after missing most of the season's first half with injuries.
• Both players started the season in the starting line up with Jones injury happening in the final minutes of CCU's second game of the season; a win at Campbell.
• Dibba was injured a few games later at the KEMI Northern Kentucky Basketball Tournament ... Last night was his first action since Nov. 17.
• CCU has been a hard-luck team over the past two seasons ... Last year the Chants lost 12 games by seven points or less and this year is shaping up the same way ... Eight of this year's nine losses have been by seven points or less.
• CCU's problems have not all been on the team's defense ... Their scoring defense is second in the Sun Belt (69.5) while the team's field goal defense is also second (.411) ...3-pt field goal defense is third (.309) and they lead the Sun Belt in defensive rebounds (31.6).
• Following Saturday's game the Chants will hit the road to Arkansas ... They will face Little Rock (Jan. 24) and Arkansas State (Jan. 26).

• Appalachian State enters today's action 5-12 overall and winless in Sun Belt action (0-4).
• Like the Chants, Appalachian State has seen its share of close losses this season including last Saturday's last-second loss to Texas State 70-69.
• Of their 12 losses, eight have come by seven points or less.
• The Mountaineers will bring one of the highest scoring offenses in the conference to the HTC Center as they are scoring at an 81.1 points per game clip.
