Mondi Named CoSIDA Academic All-America

CoSIDA All-America List

CONWAY – Senior Tyrone Mondi of the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team has been named first-team 2019 Academic All-America for Division I men's soccer, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon.

It is Mondi's second CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition after being named to the third team last season.

Mondi joins former Chanticleers Joseph Ngwenya (2003) and Henrik Mueller (2018) as first-team honorees. He is the seventh Academic All-America mention for CCU and is just the fourth Chanticleer to be named to two Academic All-America teams after being named to the third team in 2018.

This is just the latest in a string of honors for Mondi this season. He received 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District honors earlier to go along with his second-team All-Sun Belt honor.
