CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will travel up the coast to Wilmington, N.C. to take on the UNCW Seahawks at the Trask Coliseum on Sunday, Dec. 8, with a scheduled tip-off time of 2 p.m.
The Chanticleers enter the matchup with a 6-1 record and riding a two-game winning streak while the Seahawks are 3-4 after picking up a victory their last time out.

Coastal Carolina scored first and often to run away with an 86-44 victory over the UNC Pembroke Braves on Thursday night to give head coach
Jaida Williams the 92nd victory of her career.
Senior center
Naheria Hamilton recorded her 21st double-double (14 points and 11 rebounds) to lead five Chanticleers in double-digit scoring for the second consecutive game. Blount and Esmon aided her, both finishing with 18 points apiece, while reserve
Tiarra Davis added a season-high 11 points, and Williams poured in 14 points in the contest.
COASTAL vs. UNCW HISTORY
Coastal trails the Seahawks 26-3 in the overall series with UNCW owning a 13-1 all-time record at home against Coastal Carolina. The Chants won the first-ever meeting on Jan. 28, 1974, while the Seahawks have won the last 13 pairings on their home floor.
In the last matchup, CCU picked up a 57-41 victory at the HTC Center on Nov. 18, 2017.
A stretch of 16 unanswered Coastal points during seven minutes of the third and fourth quarters helped propel the Chants to a 57-41 victory over UNC Wilmington with senior
Jas Adams leading the way with a career-best 25 points.
Coastal's scoring streak began with 3:35 remaining in the third quarter when Williams hit a jumper, followed by an Adams three-pointer and field goals from
Breelyn Blanding and
Kaylin West.
SCOUTING UNCW
In their first seven contests, the Seahawks are averaging 62.1 points per game while allowing 62.6 points per game. However, UNCW is 3-1 in its last four outings after opening the season with three-straight losses. In those last four contests, the Seahawks have averaged 71.3 points per game.
Redshirt senior Gigi Smith leads two Seahawks in double digits with 19.7 points per game while being aided by Lacey Suggs' 11.6 points per game. Smith is 37 points shy from scoring 1,000 career points in her collegiate career between Old Dominion and UNCW.
UNCW LAST TIME OUT
The Seahawks jumped out to an early lead and held off a second-half comeback attempt by Presbyterian to record their first road win of the season, 70-60 on Wednesday.
Smith led four UNCW players in double figures with 18 points after converting five of nine field-goal attempts. Paige Powell, Ahyiona Vason, and Suggs contributed in scoring with 11, 12, and 13 points, respectively.
