CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will make its first postseason appearance in program history on Thursday when the Chanticleers host Campbell at 6 p.m. at the HTC Center in the opening round of the 2019 Women's Basketball Invitational.
Coastal enters the WBI coming off a 17-14 season that included an eighth-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference. In addition to Coastal Carolina, fellow Sun Belt members Georgia State and Appalachian State will also be participating in the 16-team tournament.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday (March 19) at 9 a.m. and will be $8 for adults and $5 for youth (13 and under). Tickets can be purchased at the Chanticleer Ticket Office in Arcadia Hall, online at GoCCUSports. com, or by calling 843-347-8499.
Campbell finished its season 21-12 overall and advanced to the Big South Championship game where the Fighting Camels fell to Radford, 57-45. Campbell had entered the tournament as the Big South's sixth seed.
The winner of the first round game in Conway will advance to play either Tennessee Tech or Akron in the WBI quarterfinals.
