CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team won its third straight match Wednesday afternoon with a 4-0 shutout of West Virginia State at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Coastal improves to 8-6 with the win as its closes out its nonconference schedule for the regular season.
The Chants grabbed the match's first point as Viktorija Demcenkova/Somer Dalla-Bona (No. 2) and Alexa Tiefel/Alicja Zduniak (No. 3) claimed identical 6-0 wins in doubles.
Jessie Mount took the first singles point of the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5. Dalla-Bona followed at No. 3, winning 6-1, 6-0. Zduniak finished the match on the fourth court with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep.
Coastal has eight matches remaining in the regular season, all against Sun Belt opponents. The Chants begin their final season stretch this weekend hosting Troy (March 22) and South Alabama (March 24) at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
