CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team had its four-match winning streak come to an end Sunday afternoon as the Chanticleers suffered a 4-1 loss to South Alabama at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Coastal falls to 9-7 overall and has its Sun Belt record evened at 2-2.
South Alabama captured the doubles point with 6-1 wins on the second and third courts.
Yu Fujioka gave the Jags a 2-0 lead after winning the first singles point at No. 2. Patricia Martins later made it a 3-0 lead for USA with a straight-sets win at No. 6.
Somer Dalla-Bona gave Coastal its first and only point of the day at No. 3, defeating Leslie Soto 6-2, 6-0.
Nikola Kohoutova provided the match clincher for USA on the fourth court.
Coastal plays its final away matches of the regular season next weekend when the Chants travel to ULM on Saturday and Louisiana on Sunday.
