Coastal Pulls Out 4-3 Win at ULM

MONROE, La. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team recorded a come-from-behind victory at ULM Saturday afternoon, defeating the Warhawks 4-3 at Heard Stadium. The match started with singles due to the threat of rain in the area. Each team won three points in singles, forcing the match to move to doubles where the Chants won the final point to earn the win.
The Chants improve to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in Sun Belt matches with Saturday's win.
Somer Dalla-Bona won the first singles point, defeating Teodora Radu 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 to give the Chants a 1-0 lead. ULM then won the next three points on courts six, one and four to give the Warhawks a 3-1 advantage.
Jessie Mount started the Chants' rally with a win at No. 5, and Jennifer Brown closed out singles with a three-set win at No. 2 to even the score and send the match to the deciding doubles point.
Brown and Mount took the first half of the doubles point fairly easily, winning 6-2 at No. 1. Both the second and third courts were neck and neck going into the final stretch, but it was Coastal's third pairing of Alexa Tiefel and Alicja Zduniak that provided the match winner in extras, taking the No. 3 court 7-5.
Coastal is back in action Sunday at Louisiana. The Chants and Ragin' Cajuns square off at 11 a.m. ET.
