Coastal Wins Back and Forth Match at Louisiana, 4-2

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team fought back from a pair of deficits at Louisiana Sunday afternoon to come away with a 4-2 win over the Ragin' Cajuns at the Cajun Tennis Courts.
Coastal improves to 11-7, 4-2 with its sweep of the Louisiana Sun Belt schools this weekend. Louisiana, meanwhile, falls to 6-11, 1-5 with its fourth consecutive loss.
Louisiana opened the match's scoring by taking the doubles point with a tie-breaking win on the third court. The Ragin' Cajuns' top pairing took the first court 6-1, and Coastal evened the point as Somer Dalla-Bona and Viktorija Demcenkova won the second court by the same score. The doubles point was decided at No. 3 where Louisiana pulled out a close 7-6 win.
Dalla-Bona evened the match for Coastal by winning the first singles point on the third court, 6-0, 6-3.
Louisiana then retook the lead with a No. 5 win by Clara Mantaux over Jessie Mount. Once again, however, Coastal forced a tie as Demcenkova took the first court in straight sets.
Jennifer Brown gave Coastal its first lead of the day, 3-2, with a straight-sets win on the second court. Alicja Zduniak provided the match-winner for Coastal at No. 4, rallying from a 4-6 loss in the first set to finish the point 6-4, 6-2.
Coastal now returns to Conway where it will close out the regular season with a four-match home stand. The final stretch begins with a pair of matches next weekend against Georgia State (April 5) and Georgia Southern (April 7) at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
