Women’s Tennis Notches 4-0 Shutout of Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team shook off its past three consecutive losses and snapped its skid in dominant fashion Tuesday afternoon by defeating Wofford, 4-0, on the road.
Coastal moved to 2-4 with the win while Wofford suffered just its third loss this season as it falls to 8-3.
A cold and wet day shortened the contest as several matches went unfinished once their points were deemed unnecessary.
Coastal swept the doubles point with wins on the second and third courts.
CCU's second pairing of Viktorija Demcenkova and Maria Khomchenko struck first with a 6-2 victory at No. 2. Coastal's 3's of Alexa Tiefel and Alicja Zduniak finished the opening point with a 6-3 win.
All three of Coastal's singles points were won in straight sets.
Khomchenko provided the first one at No. 4, followed by Jessie Mount at No. 3 and finally Zduniak at No. 5.
Coastal now plays a stretch of four matches in the next week, beginning with a home contest against Ashland tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Complex.
