Coastal Blanks Ashland for Second Straight Shutout

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis recorded its second shutout in as many days, following its 4-0 sweep of Wofford on Tuesday with a 7-0 blanking of Ashland Wednesday morning at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Coastal improves to 3-4 as it strings together consecutive wins for the first time this season.
The Chants' lineup on Wednesday looked exactly the same as it had the day prior.
Coastal's third doubles pairing started the match off with a 6-0 win. Jessie Mount and Jennifer Brown followed at No. 1 with a 6-1 victory to secure the point, and Maria Khomchenko and Viktorija Demcenkova completed the doubles sweep at No. 2, 6-3.
All six singles points were won in straight sets.
Demcenkova, Brown and Mount won courts 1-3, respectively. Khomchenko recorded a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4, and Zduniak and Tiefel took points on the final two courts.
Coastal plays its third match in three days on Thursday when the Chants welcome North Carolina A&T to the Stevens Tennis Complex for another 11 a.m. match.
