Coastal Falls to UTA in Regular Season Finale
CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team suffered a 4-2 loss to UT Arlington Sunday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex to finish off the 2019 regular season.
The loss snapped a five-match winning streak for the Chants, who will enter the 2019 Sun Belt Championship later this week with a 14-8 overall record and 7-3 mark against conference opponents.
Prior to Sunday's match the team honored the two members of its senior class, Jennifer Brown and Viktorija Demcenkova.
Coastal won the match's first point in doubles after taking the first and second courts. Demcenkova and Jessie Mount paired up to take the second court, 6-0, while Brown and Somer Dalla-Bona won the first court 6-2.
Dalla-Bona gave the Chants a 2-0 match advantage by winning the first singles point at No. 2, 6-3, 6-4.
UTA rallied by taking the next four points on courts one, six, four and five, respectively.
The 2019 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship begins this Thursday, April 18, in Peachtree City, Ga.
