Coastal Carolina men’s golf junior Zack Taylor is tied for 20th after two days of play
Murrells Inlet, S.C. – Junior golfer Zack Taylor carded an eagle on the par-5 No. 6 to highlight his round of 77, +5, on Tuesday at the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional held at the TPC of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, S.C.
With his first round 68, -4 under par, on Monday, Taylor enters Wednesday's final round of play tied for 20th overall with his 36-hole score of 145, +1.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native got off to a rough start on day two, carding a double bogey on hole No. 1, but bounced back with a birdie on hole No. 2, three-straight pars and then an eagle on hole No. 6 to go to -1 under par.
Following back-to-back pars, Taylor posted a bogey on hole No. 9 to finish the front nine with a 36, even par.
The back nine played especially tough all day long, as Taylor started with a double bogey on hole No. 10, recorded back-to-back pars and then carded four bogeys over the next five holes before closing the round out with a birdie on hole No. 18 to shoot a 41, +5, on the back half.
Oregon's Edwin Yi (136, -8) and Illinois' Michael Feagles (136, -8) are tied atop of the player leaderboard, while No. 46 Ohio State (565, -11) is first on the team leaderboard after two rounds of play.
Taylor will tee off round three on Wednesday morning at 9:53 a.m. ET.
