Charting the Chants
  • The Chanticleers are 27-20-1 overall this season and 12-11 in Sun Belt Conference play entering the three-game series this weekend on the road at UTA.
  •  CCU has gone just 4-6 over its last 10 games and has dropped three of its last four Sun Belt Conference three-game series at Little Rock (April 12-13), versus Georgia Southern (April 18 & 20), at Georgia State (April 26-28) and at home against Louisiana (May 3-5).
  • The Chanticleers are 9-10 at home this season but have gone 7-4 on the road in Sun Belt play with three wins at ULM (March 15-17) and two wins each at South Alabama (April 5-6) and Georgia State (April 26-28).
Tracking UTA
  • The UT Arlington Mavericks enter the weekend at 29-20 overall and 15-9 in league play.
  • UTA has struggled as of late, as the Mavericks have lost seven of their last 10 games, including each of their last two contests at ULM last weekend.
  • Prior to their slide, the Mavericks had strung together a season-high nine-straight wins from April 7 to April 20, which included wins over No. 17 Baylor (April 9) and No. 19 TCU (April 16), as well as three-game conference series sweeps at Arkansas State (April 13-14) and versus Louisiana (April 18-20).
  • The Mavericks are 13-8 overall at home this season and have won six of their last seven games at Clay Gould Ballpark.
All-Time Series History
  • Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series 4-0 with all four games coming either on the road at UTA or at a neutral site.
  • Coastal swept the Mavericks in a three-game conference weekend series back in 2017 at UTA by scores of 5-4, 4-1 and 5-0.
  • Last season, while the two teams did not meet in the regular season, Coastal and UTA did match up in the 2018 Sun Belt Championship tournament as the Chanticleers defeated the Mavericks 12-2 in eight innings at Russo Park in Lafayette, La.

  • Coastal Carolina's regular season is winding down as just two weeks remain before the 2019 Sun Belt Baseball Championship on May 21-26. The Chanticleers have two Sun Belt series left in this weekend's road matchup at UT Arlington (May 10-12) and next week's series versus Appalachian State (May 16-18).
  • This weekend's Sun Belt road series at UTA marks the third conference series in the state of Texas for the Chanticleers since joining the Sun Belt in 2017. Coastal went 1-2 at Texas State (March 17-19, 2017) in its first conference series in the Lone Star State before sweeping UTA in three games (May 12-14, 2017) in its second conference series in the state of Texas.
  • Coastal is a perfect 4-0 all-time versus UTA on the baseball diamond with all four meetings coming in the last two years. Coastal swept the Mavericks in a three-game conference weekend series back in 2017 at UTA by scores of 5-4, 4-1 and 5-0. When holding its opponents to six runs or less, the Chants are 18-4-1, yet are only 9-16 when allowing six runs or more.

  • The Chants are a perfect 10-0 this season when they hold their opponents to two runs or less for the game.
