Drafted in the 30th round (897th overall) by the Miami Marlins out of high school in the 2018 MLB Draft.
 
2019 (Freshman): Pitched in 10 games on the season, making eight starts … Started the season as the Chants’ Sunday starter before suffering an injury … Went 0-3 with an 8.35 ERA … Struck out 24 batters in 32.1 innings pitched … Walked 23 batters … Held opponents to a .277 batting average on the season … Made his first career start versus Campbell (Feb. 17) on opening weekend, giving up two hits and three walks while striking out three over 4.0-scoreless innings, but did not factor in the decision … Also made starts against No. 21 NC State (Feb. 24), allowing five runs on six hits, a walk, and a strikeout, and Indiana (March 3) where he gave up two runs on one hit, three walks, and three strikeouts … Threw 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on four hits, two walks and three punch-outs against No. 4 Oregon State (March 10) at the Seattle Baseball Showcase … Gave up six runs, two of which were earned, on five hits and two walks, while striking out two at ULM (March 17) … Suffered the loss against Troy (March 24), where he was hit up for six runs on seven hits, one walk and two strikeouts in the series finale … Went 0.1-innings versus Arkansas State and just 1.0 inning at home against Clemson (May 14) … Returned from injury to throw 4.0 innings out of the bullpen versus Appalachian State (May 17) and 5.0 innings in the 14-13 extra-inning win over UT Arlington (May 24) in the Sun Belt Championship Tournament.
