Final Box (pdf)

Corvallis, Ore. – Claudio Repetto and Tyrone Mondi each scored a goal in the second half to carry Coastal Carolina past 22nd-ranked Oregon State, 2-1.

CCU entered the final 45 minutes trailing 1-0, but was able to keep the Beavers scoreless while scoring the two goals. Repetto took a pass from Morten Timm in the 53rd minute to even the score at one.

The score stood that way for 13 minutes when Mondi was able to score off a DZ Harmon assist for the second and match-winner in the 68th minute.

It was a game which saw both teams aggressive in the offensive ends of the field with Oregon State finishing the game with 14 shots, five on goal. CCU finished with 13 shots with four of those on goal. Mondi and Jeranimo Power led CCU with four shots each.

Alberto Ciroi picked up his first win in goal as a Chanticleer. He picked up four saves in the victory and none bigger that his diving stop of an OSU shot with just six seconds left in the match.

Both teams came out of the gates aggressive with shots on their offensive side of the field. CCU held a 4-1 early lead with shots, and finished the first half out shooting OSU 8-7. But it was Joel Walker's shot that found the back of the net in the 32nd minute on an assist from Adrian Crespo to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead. That would be the score at the half.

CCU will continue its west coast trip with a match at 20th-ranked Portland Sunday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
