CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will wrap up the non-conference portion of the 2019 schedule on Sunday, Sept. 15, versus the Richmond Spiders at 1 p.m. at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
The Spiders lead the overall series 1-0 after defeating the Chanticleers 3-0 in a neutral site match in the 2009 Longwood Tournament in Farmville, Va.
Richmond tallied two goals in the opening period for a 2-0 lead at the halfway mark and picked up the final goal 10 minutes into the second period. The Spiders outshot the Chants 12-3 overall with a small 4-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Coastal has improved its record to 2-4 on the season after back-to-back 3-1 victories over Jacksonville and Gardner-Webb last week. Junior
Sunny Sigurvinsdottir led the Chanticleers with three goals in the two wins to earn Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honors. Against the Dolphins, Sigurvinsdottir scored with just 38 seconds expiring from the opening clock and scored the eventual game-winner in the 19th minute. In the match against the Runnin' Bulldogs, the Selfoss, Iceland native, scored an insurance goal in the 68th minute for the final tally of the game.

Megan Brouse (2 goals and 1 assist), freshman
Santana Pressley (1 goal), and senior
Hannah Miller (1 goal and 1 assist). As a team, CCU has fired 68 shots and is averaging 1.17 goals per game.
The Spiders scored a 5-0 win over in-state foe Hampton last time out to improve to 3-2-1. Richmond outshot the Pirates 16-5 getting tallies from Molly Morgan, Molly Wierman, Nora Santelli and Katie Tritt (2 goals).
On the season, Richmond is paced by Alyssa Walker (3 goals and 3 assists), Tritt (3 goals and 2 assists) while six other players have one goal each on the season. The Spiders have attempted 75 shots and are averaging 2.00 goals per game.
