ROCK HILL,S.C. – The Coastal Carolina cross-country teams ran the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational meet on Saturday morning at the Winthrop Farm Cross Country Course as the women earned second place and the men earned a third place finish.

The Chants finished their second race of the season in second place with 46 points as senior
Lisha van Onselen clocked a time of 18:17.10 and averaged a 5:52.70 mile for her fourth career victory.
Ashley Rulison finished second for the Chants with a time of 18:55.90. The freshman earned second-place in as many as races and bested her previous personal-best 5k time (19:55.50) by 59.10.
Senior
Alyssa LeClaire was the third Chanticleer team to finish in the top 10. The Peachtree City, Ga., native placed third and ran a season-best 20:10.10.
Rounding out the scoring for Coastal Carolina were a pair of freshman runners who ran who also posted season-bests.
Grace Cole clocked time of 20:22.50 for ninth place and freshman
Isabel Debari crossed the finish line at 22:23.60 for 22
nd overall.

Kelsey Luther came in 23
rd with a season-best mark of 22:40.50.

Three Chanticleer juniors men broke personal-best times on the day as the team finished the 8k event in third place (11 teams) with 82 points.
Andrew Southard was the only Chanticleer to finish in the top 10. The Ajax, Ontario native averaged a 5:19.00 mile and finished in the tenth position with a personal-best time of 26:25.20.
Fellow junior
Andrew Avery followed three spots behind his teammate in 13
th place as he clocked a personal-best time of 26:44.30.
Doug Mullen placed in the 16
th position with a personal-best mark of 26:50.20. The junior bested his previous best by 28.10 seconds.

st – 28:03.00), Robert Gunia (22
nd – 28:07.30),
Jerardo Perez (31
st - 29:07.60) rounded out the scoring.
Freshman
Monroe Thompkins was the final CCU runner was to cross the finish line at 29:42.80, good for 35
th place.
Matthew Chesum of Benedict was the winner out of the 88-runner field as he paced the course at 24:57.20.
