Coastal Carolina women’s tennis doubles teams finished 4-4 on Sunday

Mt. Pleasant, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's team wrapped up the College of Charleston Invitational going 4-4 in doubles play at the College of Charleston Tennis Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Sunday.

In the A1 doubles flight, Coastal's Somer Dalla-Bona/Flaminia Scará fell in their opening match to the tandem of Halli Trinkle/Elizabeth Nowak of CofC 6-1 before rebounding with a 6-0 win over Georgia Southern's Paula Bioxader/Paula Hijos.

Like their teammates, Valentina Urelli/Alicja Zduniak and Jessie Mount/Iryna Vardanian would go 1-1 on the day after dropping their opening matches. Urelli/Zduniak fell 7-5 to Elizabeth Goines/Nadja Meier of GSU and then turned around to win 6-3 over Eleanor Campbell/Catalina Medici of College of Charleston. The duo of Mount/Vardanian dropped a 6-3 set to Anna Markvaritova/Femcke van Rensburg of Charleston Southern before getting a 6-3 victory over Appalachian State's Teodora Sevo/Kate Earnhardt.

Alexa Tiefel/Maria Khomchenko opened the B1 doubles flight with a 6-1 win over the duo of Zoe Rodojici (Charlotte)/Tyler Kirk (CSU). Tiefel/Khomchenko battled Virginia Poggi/Sandra Anglesjo for the flight title but fell in the title match 6-0.
