Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team hosted Campbell, UNCG and East Carolina Friday

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team competed against East Carolina and UNCG in singles play and Campbell in doubles action Friday in the first day of the Lynn Stevens Invitational in Conway at the Stevens Tennis Complex combining for an 11-6 record.

Coastal vs. East Carolina
The Chanticleers used all eight team members against the Pirates winning six and dropping two singles bouts. Somer Dalla Bona (6-2, 7-6), Flaminia Scará (6-0, 6-3), Ira Vardanian (7-5, 6-2), Maria Khomchenko (6-3, 6-3), and Alicja Zduniak (6-3, 6-2) each picked up straight set wins against their opponents. At the No. 6 Jessie Mount (7-5, 3-6, 10-7) needed three sets to take down her opponent.

Coastal vs. UNCG
Coastal only played five against the Spartans with Scará (6-1, 6-1) and Zduniak (6-3, 6-4) getting straight set wins for the two wins in head-to-head singles action.

Coastal vs. Campbell
The Chanticleers finished 3-1 in the team's only doubles action against the Camels. Vardanian/Tiefel won 6-3 while both Dall Bona/Mount and Khomchenko/Zduniak each picked up 6-1 wins.
