IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team saw its season-opening winning streak come to an end at nine matches with an early afternoon loss to Iowa State in five sets on Friday, but the Chants were able to salvage a split on the opening day of the Cy-Hawk Invitational with a four-set win over Iowa in the primetime match.
Coastal now sits at 10-1 following Friday's split, and has one non-conference match remaining against Lipscomb on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. A win over Lipscomb would give Coastal its best non-conference record in program history.
