CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will host Appalachian State Thursday night, Sept. 26 with a scheduled kickoff time of 6 p.m. The Chanticleers enter the matchup with a 3-5-1 overall record and a 1-1 Sun Belt record while App State
comes in with a 3-4-2 overall and 0-0-1 conference records.
The CCU women's soccer team will host the Go4Goal game against the Mountaineers, Go4Goal is to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer and the Chanticleers will be wearing yellow shoelaces. Donations can be made at

The two teams have played a total of nine times with the Chants holding a slight 4-3-2 advantage in the overall series with the 2018 match scheduled to be played on the campus of Coastal Carolina but moved to Boone, N.C. due to the impact of Hurricane Florence.
Despite outshooting the Mountaineers 14-8, CCU dropped last year's contest 2-0 with the goals coming in the sixth and 27th minutes of the opening stanza. The Chants offense applied constant pressure putting seven shots on frame but was unable to crack the App State defense.
Last time out, Coastal picked up a 2-1 win for its first Sun Belt victory of the season and remained unbeaten against Troy in four matches. Junior
Mackenzie Gibbs scored the first goal of the game when the Trojans defense was called for a handball in the penalty box. Gibbs shot to her left as the goalkeeper dove to Gibbs right side in the 34th minute. Troy evened the match just over a minute later in the 36th minute where it would remain until senior

Megan Brouse with two goals and two assists for six points and senior
Hannah Miller with five points on two goals and one assist.
Defensively, Coastal's freshman goalkeeper
Ky Hudson picked up her first career start and win against Troy. The newcomer has played in a total of three games, totaling five saves.
In the last outing for App State, the Mountaineers picked up a 3-0 win over Wofford. All three goals came in the second period when Molly Niewald (61st minute), Mary Perkins (67th minute) and Tess Cairney (81st minute) each found the back of the net.
Appalachian State's Ava Dawson leads the offensive attack with nine points on four goals and one assist while Perkins (two goals and one assist), Hayley Boyles (two goals and one assist), and Kristen (five assists) each have five points.
On the defensive end, the Mountaineers Kerry Eagleston has started all nine matches in goaland has made 43 saves on the year and allowed just 13 goals.
