Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team will return to action on Oct. 11-

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team wrapped up the Lynn Stevens Invitational at the Stevens Tennis Complex on the campus of Coastal Carolina University on Saturday afternoon. In doubles action, the Chants went 3-4 and just missed a clean sweep in singles play to finish with a 6-1 record.

Coastal vs UNCG Doubles
Against the Spartans, the freshmen tandem of Valentina Urelli and Flamini Scará scored a 6-4 victory over Brianna Cross and Tayah Gomez for the lone CCU victory in the match. At the No. 2 doubles position, Iryna Vardanian and Alexa Tiefel were edged 7-6 by Ariana Chan and Sophia Adams while the duo of Somer Dall Bona and Jessie Mount fell 6-4 to Erika Barquero and Hannah Giddings.

Coastal vs ECU Doubles
CCU's teams of Vardanian and Tiefel and Maria Khomchenko and Alicja Zduniak earned 6-4 and 6-2 wins over the Pirate teams of Ho Chiao Hsia and Minette van Vreden and Sofia Anthony and Victoria Dixon, respectively. In the No. 1 and No. 3 positions the Chanticleers Dalla Bona and Mount dropped a highly contested battle 7-6 to Nastja Rettich and Michelle Ncube while Urelli and Scará fell 7-5 to ECU's Hannah Axelsson and Sibel Tanik.

Coastal Carolina got straight set victories from Dalla Bona, Urelli, Zduniak, and Tiefel while in the No. 1 and No. 5 positions the Chanticleers Scará and Mount need all three sets for their wins.
