CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will look to get back to its winning ways when it plays at Texas Arlington Saturday, January 11 at 3 p.m. (ET).
The Chants are 7-3 in their last 10 games, but are coming off a 78-66 loss at Texas State while the Mavericks are 3-7 in their past 10 games, but are coming off a 66-56 win over Appalachian State during Thursday's conference action.
UTA holds a 5-3 overall lead in the series and has defeated the Chants all three times the two teams have met in Arlington. CCU has won three-of-four in the series in Conway.
Last season the Mavericks defeated CCU both times they met; 61-58 in Conway and a 20-point 74-54 victory in Arlington.
CCU is 10-7 overall and is tied for fourth in the conference with a 3-3 record. UTA will enter the contest 6-11 overall and 2-4 in conference action.
The Chants continue to be led by sophomore guard
DeVante' Jones and his 15.8 points per game average. He also leads the conference with 91 assists and a 5.7 assist per game average.
Keishawn Brewton added four three's to his league-leading total against Texas State and is averaging 14.8 points per game. Other double-digit scorers for CCU are
Tyrell Gumbs-Frater at 12.3 points per game and
Tommy Burton at 10.7.
UTA is led in scoring by David Azore at 15.5 points per game and Brian Warren at 13.5.
