ATLANTA – It took over four minutes of extra play, but the Coastal Carolina (3-0 / 3-0 SBC) men's soccer team remained undefeated with a 1-0 overtime victory over Central Arkansas in a match played at Center Parc Credit Union Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
 
It was a match that saw UCA (1-4 / 1-2 SBC) as the aggressor for much of the contest, out-shooting the Chanticleers 18-12 and 10-5 in shots on goal. It was the Chants' second consecutive win over the Bears after defeating UCA 3-2 Friday afternoon.

"It was another great victory today against a very good Central Arkansas team," head coach Shaun Docking said. "They had some great chances in the game and our young group showed such resilience and fortitude to stay in the game. I am so delighted for our players to get the win in overtime."

"To be 3-0 against two great teams so far is such a testimony to how hard these guys have worked all preseason. I could not be prouder of our group."

In the overtime period, the Chants became the aggressor firing off three shots, two of which were on goal, including Lage's match-winner.
 
The final series of events saw the Chants start the run with a throw-in which led to a shot by Mael Couteau only to see it saved by UCA goalie Zach Schwal. After that, Lage was able to get to a loose ball, line up a shot, and find the back of the net. Couteau picked up the assist on the goal.
 
CCU goalie Tor Saunders has been big in the net for CCU this season and was again today, finishing with 10 saves while facing those 18 shots.
 
The Chants will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 25 when they host Georgia Southern at the CCU Soccer Complex at 2 p.m. ET.
