CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will host Georgia Southern in the final regular season match of the season Wednesday, October 28 at 6 p.m. ET. This game was originally scheduled as the season-opener back on September 17, but bad weather forced the postponement until this time.
CCU will look to get back into the win column as they have dropped their past two games, by identical 1-0 scores, including losing on an own goal in the loss at Appalachian State this past Sunday.
The Chants enter the contest with a 5-4 overall and conference record and are currently in third-place in the East Division. Georgia Southern enters the game with a 3-8-1 overall record and 3-5-1 and in fifth-place in the East Division.
The last time these two teams met the Chants beat the Eagles 3-0 in Statesboro, Ga.
Megan Brouse scored two goals in the victory with
Talana Banks adding the other goal.
Caeden Price,
Maria Folgero,
Sunny Sigurvinsdottir and Kanryn Nobles were all credited with assists.
Ky Hudson had a strong game in goal for the Chants, picking up nine saves in the shutout victory as the Eagles actually outshot CCU 14-12. Both teams had nine shots on goal.
