CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina volleyball will travel to the mountains of North Carolina this weekend for a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches against Appalachian State.
The Chanticleers (9-0, 9-0 SBC) will be looking to remain undefeated when they open the two-match series at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 30. The second match will be played on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 1 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
In winning its first nine matches of the season, Coastal Carolina has dropped just five sets. The Chanticleers are led offensively by junior
Anett Nemeth's 120 kills, which places her fifth in the Sun Belt with 3.75 kills per set. Senior
Ani Bozdeva is second on the team with 91 kills and ranks ninth in the Sun Belt with a .292 hitting percentage. Setting the offense for the Chants is sophomore
Brigitta Petrenko, who has registered 249 set assists and ranks sixth in the Sun Belt with 8.59 assists per set. Petrenko also sets the offense when serving as she leads the conference with 0.62 aces per set. Sophomore libero
Lina Perugini leads the Coastal defense with 141 digs and ranks sixth in the Sun Belt with 4.41 digs per set.
Appalachian State will enter the weekend at 1-5 overall and in the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers dropped their previous two matches by identical 3-1 scores to Georgia State. Lexi Kohut leads Appalachian State and ranks fourth in the Sun Belt with 3.79 kills per set (72 kills). Sam Bickley's 105 set assists leads the Mountaineers while Emma Reilly leads the squad with 91 digs.
