CHICAGO, Ill. – Redshirt senior defensive end
Tarron Jackson has added his name to another national defensive award list, as the Chanticleer co-captain was named to the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award watch list, the Ted Hendricks Foundation announced on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
A 2019 preseason All-Sun Belt selection, Jackson leads the team with 9.5 tackles-for-loss and 6.0 sacks this season to go along with 33 tackles, 14 quarterback hurries, and three forced fumbles.
His 6.0 sacks this season are tied for the Sun Belt lead while his 9.5 tackles-for-loss is third in the conference. He also leads the league in forced fumbles.

The Ted Hendricks Award is named in honor of University of Miami three-time Collegiate All-American and NFL Hall of Famer Ted Hendricks. On-field performance, leadership abilities, and contributions to school and community are some of the criteria used to determine the award winner. The candidates may represent any class (freshman through senior) as well as any recognized four-year NCAA member school (Division I through Division III).
Leading college coaches, former players and coaches, media members, and pro football personnel professionals vote in the selection process.
