CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball team will look to get back into the win column when they host UT Arlington Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.

It is a game of great importance as UTA (10-14/6-7 Sun Belt) is one game in front of the Chanticleers (12-12/5-8 Sun Belt) in the Sun Belt Conference race as the top 10 teams will advance to the conference tournament.

Both teams are coming into the game off losses with UTA dropping a 57-50 decision at Appalachian State Thursday and CCU falling at home to Texas State.

The Mavericks have won five-of-seven contests coming into the game with David Azore leading the team in scoring at 15 points per game, good enough for eighth in the Sun Belt. Teammate Brian Warren is averaging 12.6 points per game and both players lead the Mavs with 91 assists each.

CCU continues to be led by Mr. Everything
DeVante' Jones who is averaging 16.2 points per game. He is getting plenty of scoring help from
Tommy Burton and
Tyrell Gumbs-Frater who are both averaging 11.3 points per game.

The series between the two teams started when CCU joined the Sun Belt Conference for the 2016-17 season and actually faced UTA in its' first Sun Belt Conference game, a 69-60 win by the Mavs who own a 5-3 overall edge in the series.

CCU defeated UTA 82-77 in their first meeting this season back on Jan. 11 in Arlington, Texas. It was CCU's first victory over UTA in Arlington.
